[MTG] Help Getting Started with Magic The Gathering. #1 Deck Empty
PostSubject: [MTG] Help Getting Started with Magic The Gathering. #1 Deck    [MTG] Help Getting Started with Magic The Gathering. #1 Deck EmptyMon Mar 16, 2015 7:33 pm

I can't post in Deck discussion so i'm gonna post this topic here.

You already know how to start a game of Magic, now you need a deck. Here's one that i built that doesn't require lots of rulings, and playing it is simple. it might be small, but this deck has won me 1 draft and 1 tournament before, due to it's intense speed at getting creatures out, and burning your opponent, without using the
populate ability. Mana is your last worries in this deck, as it utilizes elvish mystic, and has 24 mana.

Lands (24)
4 Stomping Ground
4 Temple of Abandon
10 Forest
6 Mountain

Creatures (28)
4 Elvish Mystic
4 Experiment One
4 Kalonian Tusker
3 Scavenging Ooze
3 Boon Satyr
3 Polukranos, World Eater
3 Stormbreath Dragon
4 Ghor-Clan Rampager

Spells (2)
2 Mizzium Mortars
Planeswalkers (6)
4 Domri Rade
1 Xenagos, the Reveler
1 Chandra, Pyromaster

Sideboard (15)
3 Flames of the Firebrand
1 Shock
1 Mizzium Mortars
2 Ratchet Bomb
3 Peak Eruption
1 Pithing Needle
2 Hammer of Purphoros
2 Destructive Revelry

Not interested in Green and Red?

Here's a Green White deck, also simple, but VERY scary.
Lands (24)
4 Temple Garden
3 Selesnya Guildgate
9 Forest
8 Plains

Creatures (22)
4 Experiment One
3 Soldier of the Pantheon
4 Voice of Resurgence
4 Fleecemane Lion
2 Trostani, Selesnya's Voice
4 Boon Satyr
1 Scavenging Ooze

Spells (12)
3 Call of the Conclave
4 Advent of the Wurm
2 Rootborn Defenses
3 Selesnya Charm

Planeswalkers (2)
2 Ajani, Caller of the Pride

Sideboard (15)
3 Unflinching Courage
1 Archangel of Thune
1 Trostani, Selesnya's Voice
3 Glare of Heresy
1 Hunt the Hunter
2 Pithing Needle
1 Sundering Growth
2 Celestial Flare
1 Gods Willing

I don't have any other color decks to show, as i only choose to play Red, Green and when i don't have a choice; i play white. These decks have won tournaments, so be confident in them. once you can start off on your own feet, you can build your own deck, and challenge me to a face-off XD

Now if you're looking at a more sinister way to start playing MTG, This are decks feared by EVERYONE, so annoying, that the mere appearance of the deck, can cause people to start quitting out of any tournament it appears in. Not necessarily overpowered, but because of the PURE annoyance. They're fun to play with, but not play against. You don't want to see this deck played at your tournament, and you definitely don't want to play against it.

Here it is; this is the original build (what everyone plays)
but i will be fixing it to my taste.

[MTG] Help Getting Started with Magic The Gathering. #1 Deck PufzSeo

This deck is called Turbo-Fog btw there are Different version, different builds for different formats.

Main Deck
60 cards

6  Forest
4  Hinterland Harbor
4  Island
4  Plains
4  Sunpetal Grove
22 lands

0 creatures

2  Blunt the Assault
4  Clinging Mists
3  Day of Judgment
1  Elixir of Immortality
4  Fog
2  Moonmist
4  Noxious Revival
3  Otherworld Atlas
4  Ponder
2  Reclaim
3  Rites of Flourishing
3  Terrifying Presence
3  Tezzeret's Gambit
38 other spells

Sideboard
3  Beast Within
2  Dissipate
3  Negate
1  Terminus
3  Timely Reinforcements
3  Witchbane Orb
15 sideboard cards

the main goal of the deck is; as your opponent attacks, you can Fog each attack, ensuring you don't die. Because your deck has so many attack negators and you're drawing so many cards per turn, it's surprisingly easy to just Fog every turn for the rest of the game! Eventually you will win via some narrow victory condition, usually by running your opponent out of cards.

After playing this deck and analyzing how it actually works, i ended up fixing it into this final deck list;

Main Deck
60 cards

12  Forest
4  Hinterland Harbor
7  Island
23 lands

3  Snapcaster Mage
3 creatures

3  Beast Within
2  Blunt the Assault
3  Clinging Mists
1  Dissipate
1  Elixir of Immortality
4  Fog
3  Moonmist
1  Noxious Revival
4  Otherworld Atlas
4  Ponder
4  Rites of Flourishing
30 other spells

1  Jace, Memory Adept
3  Tamiyo, the Moon Sage
4 planeswalkers

Sideboard
1  Beast Within
2  Dissipate
3  Grafdigger's Cage
2  Jace, Memory Adept
4  Negate
3  Witchbane Orb
15 sideboard cards

Please don't play this in tournaments. so as not to induce RAGE, in your opponent.

There are ways to counter the deck, but if your opponent doesn't know you are playing this deck, what he can do against it is limited.
