Dear Yu-Gi-Oh Community,
my article is about the new released Nekroz Deck and their Djinn-Lock. So at first the Djinn Lock describes a combo which is a pretty easy usable in the Nekroz Deck.
Basically you use “
Djinn Releaser of Rituals” for a Ritual summon to prevent you opponent from special summoning any kind of monsters.
You opponent ends with a monster summoned using the Djinn, a few cards in their hand and maybe also a
Nekroz of Gungir and/or Trishula.
There were quite a few playable cards we can use to get rid of your opponent´s lock, but which is the best one?
Tsukuyomi
- gets hit by Effect Veiler or similar cards
– get countered by Nekroz of Trishula
Book of Moon
+ safe out against Vanity´s Fiend a face-up Masked Hero Darklaw or similar cards
+ can be used to push a OTK through Nekroz of Valkyrus
+ use flip effects again
+ quick spell - get countered by Nekroz of Trishula
– Masked Hero Darklaw´s effect can’t be countered if another mask change is set
Raigeki
+ safe out against Vanity´s Fiend, Masked Hero Darklaw or your opponent´s monsters
+ kills eventually Vanity´s Emptiness - get countered by Nekroz of Gungnier
Dark Hole
+/- see pro and con´s from Raigeki
Book of Eclipse
++ safe out against Djinn Lock, Vanity´s Fiend, Masked Hero Darklaw and similar cards
+ can be an out against Vanity´s Emptiness if you opponents monster is equipped
+ can be used to get rid of any monster locks and use flip or similar effects twice
+ quick spell - your opponent draw cards if you get not rid of the set monsters
Swords of Concealing Light
+ almost safe out against Djinn-Lock, Vanity´s Fiend, Masked Hero Darklaw and similar cards
+ can be an out against Vanity´s Emptiness if you opponents monster is equipped
+ affected monsters can´t change the battle position as long it remains on the field - no re-use of own flip or similar effects
– can be countered by Mystical Space Typhoon
– permanent spell
Archmage/Princess + Armor
+ searchable – countered by opponents Nekroz of Decicive Armor, Gungnier or Valkyrus
— any Trap counter that play
Snatch Steal
+ pretty good card in other situations — on the basis of Konami´s Japan rulings, the Djinn will be still active and prevent you from special summons, so you have to self-kill the snatched Ritual
So I’ve talked a little bit about Djinn-Lock of Nekroz and the cards to play against. But now you have to choose the best card by your own.
