Its DuskMage again with the second part of my Yugioh deck building guide. As usual, hope you enjoy and let me know if I missed something within the covered topic(s)
Consistency
This is a huge part of any deck, and you should always strive to have consistency. If a deck lacks consistency, it will lose duels more often than not. But what is consistency? Consistency can be defined as a how often your deck can make its various plays.
Part of consistency is having searchers for your key cards. A deck like Nekroz that has access to so many good searchers, both archetypical in Brionac, Clausolas, and Unicore, as well as generic ritual searchers like Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands and Preperation of Rights. These cards search for your main combo pieces. Another deck that has good consistency is Masked Heroes. So many searchers go into this deck, allowing you to get your monsters quickly despite the fact that you typically run a low amount of monsters.
Some good generic consistency cards include Upstart Goblin, Pot of Duality, Foolish Burial, Mathmatician, and Cardcar D.
Another thing you can do to increase consistency is keep the amount of cards in your deck to the minimum. The bare minimum of cards you can run is 40 and that is the amount you should run. With 40 cards you are much more likely to draw the card you need when you need it. If you're running a mill heavy deck, such as Chaos or Lightsworn, 45 cards can work since you're going through your deck quickly. You might be thinking that 40 cards isn't enough to build a deck, but being able to build your deck with 40 cards and good consistency is what seperates the various tiers of duelist skill.
